About Us

The American Asian Cultural Center is supported by the Mission of Tao-Confucianism, a nonprofit corporation registered in the State of California for the study of:

• 1 Philosophy.
• 2 Ancient civilizations and the history of Eastern and Western cultures.
• 3 Universal law, ancient documents and literature, and other related subjects.

The aims of the American Asian Cultural Center are:

• 1 To promote American-Asian studies.
• 2 To study and compare the doctrines, principles, and theories underlying the world’s major religions and philosophies.
• 3 To provide a meeting place where people of American and Asian cultures can share their ideas and philosophies.

The activities of the American Asian Cultural Center include:

• 1 Offering classes that promote the exchange of Eastern and Western ideas, philosophies, and cultures, as well as demonstrate aspects of everyday living through painting, calligraphy, music, chess, folk art, flower arranging, and exercise for healthy living.
• 2 Studying and comparing the English language with Asian languages.
• 3 Conducting monthly lectures presented by prominent scholars from various fields of study.
• 4 Maintaining a library of current classics in English and Asian literature that is open to the community.
• 5 Providing community services through exhibitions and displays, group recreational activities, and other services that may be needed by the community.

The American Asian Cultural Center will provide a unique opportunity for people from American and Asian cultures to come together in a spirit of mutual understanding and cooperation. This will foster better relationships and encourage a more positive, harmonious environment for living and working within the community of Alhambra.
